The Prostate Center

The Prostate Center is directed by Alexis E. Te, M.D., who is also the Director of the Advance Center for Benign Prostate Disease and Co-Director of the Men's Health Center at The Mount Sinai Hosptial. Dr. Te is a Professor of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a leading investigator in numerous minimally invasive therapies for the enlarged prostate. His center provides a uniquely comprehensive experience in evaluating, managing, and treating all types of prostate problems including benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatitis, and prostate cancer. The center provides state-of-the-art technologies and is one of a few centers that is experienced in providing the full range of minimally invasive treatments ranging from lasers to microwave thermotherapy and all other available standard treatments. The center is actively investigating and providing new treatment options in numerous clinical trials for patients with BPH and other prostate problems.

 Brief Biography of the Director
Dr. Alexis E. Te is a Professor of Urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He was also a former Professor of Urology at Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University for many decades..
Dr. Te received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed his urology residency training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He continued his training by completing a fellowship in neurourology and urodynamics at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University. He remained on the faculty and became a leader in the development of new techniques for treatment of benign prostatic disorders in men as well as the evaluation and treatment of incontinence in men and women.
